Hello. I've been using this power station as UPS for a week and I should say it's really nice product. However, there are a couple of suggestions for the manufacturer to include in the next firmware updates:
1. Please consider the possibility to change the way the ventilators work, as current pattern is a bit noisy and annoying. They switch on every 10 minutes, no matter the load is, and spin for 5 minutes. I also have Ecoflow Delta 2 of 1024 Wh and it's mostly quiet if the loads do not exceed 200 W. I think, the current ventilator operation pattern can be justified under loads starting from at least 200 W. If it was possible to implement the ventilator management in your app, that would be really helpful.
2. Please implement the function to turn off the wireless charging once and permanently rather than switching if off every time in the app.
3. Please implement the possibility to choose whether Wi-Fi is enabled by default when the unit starts instead of switching it on every time manually.
4. Please add more options for charging speed, a slider would be the best option.
Thank you for your product, guys, and all the best in future updates.
I chose it because it’s beautiful, functional, has reasonable price and huge capacity of 1.2 kilowatts!
So far I really like this product. For me it’s a live saver, because we have blackouts for 4-8 hours a day :(
I work from home and this power station helps me stay connected with my team for the whole work day!
Thank you for quick delivery and great customer support!
Device itself is great. The only annoying issue is that wireless charging is always turned on after powering on the main unit. And the only way to turn it off is to use mobile application, which is not convenient. It might be more logical to control wireless charging along with USB ports or with a long press of USB output button for example.
A difference between "full" and "half" display brightness is not so noticeable. "Half" should be more dim in my opinion.
A bit of coil whine also worth mentioning.
However, don't get me wrong: device is great.
Mobile application on the other hand has a lot of room for improvement, to say the less.
It is *very* difficult to use it on Android. If you need to register the device for the first time, then it is easier to use an iPhone for that and then switch back to Android to control already registered one.
Although it is mentioned that "you need to enable full GPS" (or something like that), it is not so obvious that you need to enable not only GPS by itself, but enable Google Location Accuracy (a.k.a. Google Location Services) by turning on "Improve Location Accuracy". If it is turned off, then enabling GPS won't allow you to proceed to device search. Even switching to other applications or exiting is a problem on Android. Just take some Android phone and try to register a new device / configure it after. Be sure to take the cheapest phone, though, since most probably you gonna throw it in a wall shortly.
One other minor issue (common for iOS and Android) is a request to select AC frequency (50 or 60 Hz) when turning on AC output. It is highly unlikely that anyone will ever need to choose different frequency, since there are different models for different markets. And there are option for doing that under "More features" tile. It might be reasonable to remove the prompt when turning AC output on, but add some kind of warning/confirmation prompt for this action in "More features", since it might damage connected devices.
Lack of statistics of any kind is a flaw as well. It would be great to see some logs for inputs status at least. Even if device doesn't have real time clock (which seems to be the case), it is possible to calculate timestamps basing on unit uptime or something. Well, even a simple list of events with a counter for each one will be better than nothing.
Finally, estimating discharge/backup time might be more accurate if there will be an option to calculate overage consumption for 5/10/15 minutes.
The VIGORPOOL Captain 1200 fits my needs when I am in remote areas when Power is needed for modern conveniences, with a very low RFi signature on my radio equipment and computers plus the fans are very quiet. Coupled with the solar panels the freedom we have is well worth the investment.
